Lexie Heinle

Data Journalist. Developer.

As a recent graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I'm interested in utilizing data and technology to better understand the world. My strengths lie in the determination to tell the story right and the willingness to find the best way to tell it. From building a news application to analyzing census data, I enjoy challenging myself to produce innovative stories.

Python, D3 and Django are some of the tools I've used in my storytelling quest. I love trying new programs and striving to understand how to utilize open source journalism projects.

In addition to my computer science and data journalism classes, I've gained experience working as a fellow in the living section for the Omaha World-Herald and as a web design intern for Nelnet. This summer, I build data visualizations for The Buffalo News.
